Backgrounds Across America...and Canada.
Below is an experiment that about 50 of our members have agreed to be a part of. Two different style of backgrounds are going to ship from photographer to photographer. Each person will shoot some images on the background over the course of one week, then the background will ship to the next person in line.
Images from each photographer will be posted in this thread. We are all anxious to see how different the same background design will look when photographed by so many creative minds. Hopefully this will enlighten people to the variety of looks that can be achieved with a single design. Keep checking back as this thread will continue to grow until the project is complete.
See below for a more detailed explanation of the experiment:
Backgrounds Across America
Thank you for participating in the Silverlake background experiment. The goal is to see what the same backgrounds will look like when photographed by creatively unique photographers, in different regions, with different equipment, and different skill levels.
We have tried to make this as simple as any project this big can be. You will find enclosed a background, this instruction sheet, a set of clamps, folding instructions, a list of who will be receiving the background in what order, and shipping labels.
Please post the progress of the background in the thread titled Backgrounds Across America on the forum, along with any your best images from your time with the background. Please keep everyone informed when your receive it, when you plan to ship it, and what the tracking number is when you do ship. Some of the people involved in this project do not have daily sessions and will need as much advance notice as possible to facilitate locating models or lining up time to photograph the background. Some of you had mentioned personally delivering the background to the nest person in line. If you would prefer to do this, that is fine also.
Try to keep the possession of the background limited to one week. The duration of this project is going to be long enough without any unforeseen delays. Hopefully, this will be such a success that we can do more events like this, allowing our members to have an opportunity to evaluate certain products before deciding whether or not to purchase.
There are two threads on this project this one contains ONLY the images created by the various photographers.
