In result, I offered my neighbor a complimentary session to "test out" my setup before I had paying clients. She took me up on it. I offered her $100 print credit per referral. Her husband is in the oil industry and she is a counselor at 2 of our local schools. Here is 4 images from the session that I pulled for a sneak...there are other really adorable ones too:

Some thinner fabrics don't take gels as well as thicker ones that don't let the light pass through much at all.

So my question is, as a general rule, how do the Colorsmacks gel? I wasn't able to find a description about the type of fabric they're done on, just that they're wrinkle resistant.

If anyone has any examples of Colorsmacks using gels, I would really appreciate it! He was such a perfect baby to photograph. He barely fussed at all over the 2 days of shooting we did. These are just a couple of shots from this setup on Hickory. LOVE that drop!! I used "ebony" and found it worked nicely for most shots. I was happy with the shots- next time round I will tone down the exposure a little-but,,,they loved it. Same photo -different. I could have done better with the feet as well-i guess we learn!
