I found this example image on the web by doing a search for old war photos. Most of the scanned photos from that time had interesting folds and bends in the original that makes for good grunge when you do these simple steps.

Step 1: Desarurate the image by pressing "ctrl+shift+U" to remove color cast.

Photo Shop - placing subject into a different image

I put this together for a friend of mine and thought maybe it would come in handy for those that have never worked with a Vector Mask and erasing around a subject. Basic to some but if you have never done it , it can be very confusing.

Below, on the left of CS there is a red box with a circle in it , Third up from bottom on right . It says Edit in quick mask mode. make sure you have it pushed and activated.
